The Original Cast

 Grey's Anatomy is a highly watched medical drama that has been streaming for the past 16 years. The cameras followed Meredith Grey throughout Seattle Grace Hospital where she began her residency starting in 2005. It then introduced a number of characters that would later on revolve around the whole show over the course of 17 seasons. There's plenty of turns throughout the show, including medical emergencies and drama between colleagues. Meredith has had her share of drama, starting with Derick Sheppard, who was suppose to be "just a guy in a bar". Little did she know he was her boss starting the day after they got together. The favoritism and secrets were constantly stirring the pot between Meredith and the other residents. As time goes on they find their place in the hospital, they grow together, they fight, they find love, they move away, and some pass. Shonda Rhimes has made a script that is so addicting to many people, that is was ABC's number one entertainment series among Adults 18-49 with a total of 15 million viewers per episode for the current seasons. 

The fan base for Grey's Anatomy has grown dramatically. I have been a fan for as long as I can remember, my mom started watching the show when I was younger and ever since then I fell in love with it. Over time you fall in love with the characters and the story itself. Every Thursday night at 9 would be dedicated to watching the new episode. I took a trip to Seattle and rode the ferryboat and I also got a Grey's Anatomy sweatshirt. I have rewatched the show countless amounts of times and have never lost the excitement every time I hear the theme song when the show begins. Other individuals show their dedication and love for the show through fan art, videos, cosplay and fan fiction. There are numerous accounts and websites showing the work of fans.

Fan Art
Fan art and fan fiction are two very popular fandoms that revolve around this show. Fan fiction is where an individual takes the plot and changes it into their own story. We have all experienced watching a show where the ending isn't what we want, with fan fiction you can make the ending whatever you desire. There are also relationships between characters that we don't always "ship", through fan fiction you can create or end any relationship. For the more artistic fans, fan art is their way of showing their dedication and passion for the show. It is typically shown through drawings, paintings, and collages. Most fans post their art online for other fans to see whether it's on Instagram, blogs, fan websites, or Tik Tok. Some work is even sold on different platforms for fans to truly enjoy.

The last form of fandom that is popular with this show is cosplay. Fans dress up and act as if they're a character from a show, book, or movie. There are costumes and accessories all over the internet for sale. Halloween is a given day fans can dress up and participate in cosplay.

Seattle Grace and a Ferry Boat

Fans often take trips to Seattle to visit the hospital and ferry boats that were used in the show. Seattle is a very popular spot for tours, but they even offer full Grey's Anatomy tours. They take you to the intern house, Kerry Park, the hospital, and on a ferry boat ride. During tours, you can recreate pictures from scenes in the show. Many fans have posted their pictures online to fan websites, instagram, blogs, ect. 

The numbers in Grey's Anatomy fandoms have just been rising as every season goes on. It doesn't look like it'll slow down any time soon, even with their favorite characters leaving. We won't know if there will be a 19th season yet, but every fan is hoping Shonda Rhimes continues writing.

During the 60's he began to fight with drugs. He had this battle his whole life.  In the 80's his sales began to drop. Then in the 90's he once again flourished. Then in 2003 he pasted away. Throughout his life he won many awards. He was able to do so after his death as well.    The Fandom In 2005, Walk the Line, a movie about his life was recorded. The One Who Fills a Void

       One day I was spending time in Benton at my uncle's house like I do often. Me and him were working on a 1948 John Deere G that he had bought in the 70's and is now mine. My uncle is an older gentleman who was never married and never had kids, so I am almost the closest thing he has ever had to a son or grandson. Which after my grandfathers passed away years ago, he really filled the void and became almost more like a grandfather figure in way. On this particular day we were trying to clean up the tractor after it was caught in a flood. My uncle was a truck driver and a diesel mechanic his whole life and has a small shop in his backyard full of expensive tools that had almost all gotten caught in the flood waters. We had already spent days cleaning the shop and the tools. At this point we were both getting tired and discouraged. My Best Friend

"A sister is someone that is not only your sister but a best friend." That is what Julie, my sister, and I always say because we are truly best friends. We do everything together. We are only 17 months apart in age. My mom would always dress us in the same outfit when we were little and everyone would always ask if we were twins. Julie is someone that I always want by my side, which has made it hard and extremely different since I have moved into college. We have made so many memories together and get along so well. My sister makes the harder times easier and the easy times more fun. We tell each other everything and would always make time in the day too caught up and just talk to each other. Most of the time those conversations would happen at night while everyone is sleeping. Either one of us would go into the other's bedroom and sit on whoever's bed.
