Tough Love


She's a great teacher in the classroom and on the mats. All the girls listen to every command she has. She screams "make those arms tighter and those moves sharper" as it echoes throughout the big gymnasium with the music playing as were in the middle of a dance. Everyone looks at each other scolding one another trying to figure out who isn't tight in their motions knowing we'll have to do it again and again until its right. Every Command she makes is to make us better as a team. In the gym she's correcting 30 girls on what they have to fix and improve so we don't look sloppy on the football field come game time. This amazing women goes by the name Liz. 


Liz has inspired me and helped me grow as a person. She was a cheer coach but she was also more of a mom to all the girl on the team. If there was any issues she would have us sit down and talk it out. Liz would angrily yell in a medium pitched voice “WE ARE A TEAM WHY ARE WE FIGHTING?” No one would ever responded due to being scared of what she’ll say. Even with the fighting and getting yelled at she pushed and showed me not to care what other people are saying and to stay focused on what I’m doing. 

Off the field and mats we came together as one untied team. Liz would take time out of her day to hangout with us and just joke around. She would act like a kid with us but a coach at practice. 





Liz has told me “that when u work hard for what you want you will achieve it even if you don’t place 1st on the first try". To this day her saying that has stuck with me. If I work hard in my classes I will achieve graduating college. You may not get 100 on every test but you will still get a passing grade. Liz has been coaching for almost 12 years. She has coached me in middle school and high school. Liz would get  in stunts and show us what to do but she also loved to stunt at random occasions. 

 

Liz is the one on the bottom right corner. She was fooling around after we placed first at competition at Southern Columbia high school. The other two ladies in the stunt are is the jv coach Hailey on the bottom left. The lady standing on them is the head coach who over sees them Lindsey.

    Maybe try to describe the setting a little better. Like where you are and what it looks like. What the room feels like and The size of the room. Also, The well in "knowing well have to do it again" should have an apostrophe.

The One Who Fills a Void

       One day I was spending time in Benton at my uncle's house like I do often. Me and him were working on a 1948 John Deere G that he had bought in the 70's and is now mine. My uncle is an older gentleman who was never married and never had kids, so I am almost the closest thing he has ever had to a son or grandson. Which after my grandfathers passed away years ago, he really filled the void and became almost more like a grandfather figure in way. On this particular day we were trying to clean up the tractor after it was caught in a flood. My uncle was a truck driver and a diesel mechanic his whole life and has a small shop in his backyard full of expensive tools that had almost all gotten caught in the flood waters. We had already spent days cleaning the shop and the tools. At this point we were both getting tired and discouraged.                               Hotline Miami Fandom by: Jack Blohm December 1st 2021      Hotline Miami is a fast pace top down arena shooter released in 2012. this  indie game was made  by 2 people working under  Dennaton Games. The games take place in the 80's with a  pixel  vaporwave art style supported by a synth heavy soundtrack. having a very successful launch and  receiving multiple rewards from IGN a sequel was soon to follow. in 2015 it came when  Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was released following in the footsteps of the first. with more levels , more characters, and more weapons.
